She also just started sleeping through the night without a night feeding! She usually goes to sleep for the night between 9-10pm and wakes up between 6:30-8am. A typical week day goes something like this...wake up between 6:30-8:00am with good morning smiles and I change her diaper and feed her. Meanwhile Cora has woken up about the same time and Neil gets up with her and gets her Cheerios, granola, or oatmeal for breakfast. Cora gets to watch Curious George and Daniel Tiger in the morning while we get ready for school. Linley is usually awake for an hour or so and then I put her in the carseat and she falls asleep either while still at home or once we are in the car. Cora gets dressed by herself for the most part, but I help pack her lunch and do her hair, etc. and we leave just after 9am to take her to school. Linley always falls asleep on the way to school and typically stays asleep until 11-11:30am. Meanwhile after dropping Cora off I'll either head straight home and get some things around the house done before she wakes up or I meet a friend for coffee or do some shopping etc. Usually 9:30-11 is my most productive time of day. Her afternoon schedule is a bit more unpredictable and mostly I snuggle with her on the couch and feed her or play with her and have been binge watching House of Cards on Netflix. Linley is often awake for an hour again and back to sleep around 12-1pm for an hour or so and then awake for another hour and back asleep around 3-4pm. This is her second most consistent nap until 5:30-6pm, which is usually when we're back in the car picking up Cora from school. The evenings are pretty unpredictable, but she'll usually nap again during or after dinner before being awake for a bit before bedtime. All in all it's not too bad and we're adjusting to the routine as we go!
On March 11th we went in to have Linley's ultrasound of her cyst. This was the first look we had of the cyst since I was 37 weeks pregnant with her. Linley was pretty calm and relaxed for the first half when the ultrasound tech was looking at her upper abdomen, but then she was a bit sad later on. I think the tech took a bit longer than planned because she had a hard time seeing the cyst and wanted to make sure she had pictures of everything they would want. I fed Linley part way through to try to calm her down, but she ended up just crying for a while at the end and we just powered through to get it done. It didn't help that Cora was antsy and had to go pee and then poop during the ultrasound, so I was trying to juggle her and comfort Linley as well. In any case, they got the pictures of the cyst and basically the result was that it was super tiny on the left ovary. They aren't concerned about it at all and just want her to get another one in 2 months to make sure that it is fully resolved and hasn't grown or anything. Whew, glad that looked good!
Otherwise Linley is a pretty happy and amiable baby. She gets fussy when hungry or tired, but I'm able to predict these for the most part. She is really quite strong and loves laying on her play mat and doesn't mind tummy time. I feel like I'm enjoying everything a bit more this time around and overall I'd say that things are going quite well. It's amazing how easy a baby seems after also having a 3 year old in comparison. Cora has adjusted quite well and loves giving her sister hugs and trying to make her smile, but at the same time Cora is into the phase of "I want" or "I don't want" and has some pretty incredible temper tantrums and she is quite often testing our limits and patience. The "three-nager" is in full effect!
Some favorite photos over the last month...
The proud big sister.
Pretty much my life these days.
The official two month old photo shoot (in the same outfit that Cora wore at that age.)
Skeptical.
