Last night was the first time Cora has found something funny and intentionally made laughing noises in response. It was soooo funny! We had spent the day in Bozeman spending an insane amount of money...first clothes shopping trip for me post pregnancy/baby, 3 pairs of new shoes for Neil, and buying a fancy new baby video monitor! Then the 4 of us (exhausted) went out to dinner for sushi and relaxed with hot tea and a quiet, family friendly atmosphere. I was trying to get Cora to eat a bit more (milk that is, not sushi!) before we left and drove the hour home, so she was looking up at me through the nursing cover and she started smiling at me. So I of course, started making funny noises and saying the vowels with funny face expressions, trying anything to make her smile. I would say, "Aaayyyyy." And Cora would smile and make a noise, then I would say, "Eeeeeee." And she would smile bigger and "laugh" again. I continued..."Eyeeeeee, Ooooohhhh, Youuuuuu." And then I would laugh in response to her and she continued to make her small laughing noises. Rita and Neil were sitting across the table from us cracking up as well. It was so fun!
And then tonight in the bath tub she was happy as a clam, splashing in the water, and would make eye contact with me and I'd repeat the vowels and she would just grin, as big as her little mouth would let her. Wow, it is such a huge and beautiful smile! Of course then Rita comes in with the camera and Cora didn't smile quite as big anymore. But Neil and I have definitely started doing anything to get those smiles and to try and repeat the "laughing"!
Here are a couple photos from last week. She is getting so big!
Then here is a video of her smiling at me from the other week as well. Love her smiles!
