First of all it was an epic Montana weekend for him. Friday night Neil and I went out to dinner just the two of us while Cora stayed home with Coco and Grandpa Vern. We went to this modern Italian restaurant new in Big Sky in the last year and had a delicious pizza with fig jam, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and a fried egg in the middle! Saturday morning while I met up with some other moms and babies (Big Sky Babies group), Neil went mountain biking with a friend. In the afternoon he went rafting on the Gallatin with a couple friends. And then the three of us all went swimming at the pool where Coco and Grandpa Vern were staying. Cora LOVES swimming!
Then Sunday Neil went golfing in the morning with his usual group of guy friends. I had told him that he couldn't plan anything from 1pm on that afternoon and that it was a surprise. Originally Rita and I were trying to decide between sending Neil and Vern fishing or ziplining and ended up deciding on ziplining. However, then when I told Neil that we had a surprise planned for them he said, "Are we going fishing? I was thinking of taking my dad fishing." So quickly Rita and I decided to change plans and we booked them a half day fly fishing guide trip.
First we all went to the Bugaboo for lunch and had a fun time sitting outside in the summer weather. Cora was super smiley and loved reading with papa and hanging out with Grandpa Vern. Then as we were driving back home I pulled into the fishing outfit and Neil and Vern were super surprised! After dropping them off for the afternoon, Rita, Cora, and I hiked to Ousel Falls and had a wonderful little afternoon ourselves, before grilling up dinner for the guys when they got home.
Biking, rafting, swimming, golfing, and fishing...not to mention hanging out with your beautiful baby girl...all in all a great weekend and Father's Day!
