We welcomed Linley Quinn Johnson to the world at 12:36am on Thursday, January 21st. At 6 pounds 13 ounces and 21 inches long she is perfect! She just missed sharing a birthday with her grandmother, Neil's mom Rita, by 36 minutes. She arrived quickly and fairly smoothly, but I'll write more about that in another post dedicated to her birth story.
Linley looks a lot like Cora did when she was born. They are definitely sisters and it will be so interesting to see how similar and different they are as they grow up. Linley currently has short medium brown hair that is about 1 inch long or a little longer on top and it looks pretty straight. I'm guessing she will have similar hair to Cora. Linley has a pretty round face with big cheeks already. She has big eyes and often opens them up wide looking around. She has full lips like her daddy, however, Neil doesn't think she looks quite as much like him as Cora did when she was born. Maybe she'll look more like me??
So far she has been a pretty easy going baby. Eating every 2-3 hours, sometimes going 4 hours at night. Rarely crying unless I take too long to start feeding her when she's hungry. She doesn't seem too bothered by wet or dirty diapers, but she is certainly bulking up and eating lots of good milk. Tomorrow is her 3 week appointment and I'm excited to see how much she has grown.
Cora loves her new baby sister and is so gentle and caring with her. Giving her lots of hugs and saying, "Shhh, it's alright" when Linley is crying. She is a great big sister!
