This week marks 22 weeks! I actually am not quite sure which day of the week to count now, since I was doing Wednesdays with the 23rd of January being 40 weeks and a Wednesday. As of our last ultrasound they measured the baby as 2 days younger, so Friday, January 25th may be the actual due date. I'm not at all concerned with the due date itself, because the baby will come whenever she is ready, it's just the marker by which to count the weeks. So, around Wednesday through Friday is when I turn the next week along. So in any case, today being Saturday, I'm for sure 22 weeks. And I'm also for sure bigger than two weeks ago.
Today I was at the Lone Peak High School football game (the second season of the new high school in Big Sky even having a football team!) and ran into a number of people, old friends and new moms. There was a 2 week old little baby girl there and the mom told me it was her 6th baby! When I told her I was due in January she said, "Is this your first baby? You are so tiny." I've actually had a number of people tell me that I'm pretty small for 5 months. And 22 weeks is even technically the first week of my sixth month. Even though I feel a lot larger than I'm used to being normally, I guess it's good that everyone says I'm small now because I'm sure by 8 and 9 months I'll feel gigantic.
The baby is around 1 pound this week, which is amazing. She still has several pounds to go, but we're now in pounds instead of ounces. I'm feeling lots of movements and the best part this last week was that Neil got to feel a movement for the first time! I wasn't sure if he would be able to feel her from the outside because when my hand is there I can't tell if my hand is feeling the movement or if I'm just feeling it from the inside. A few times I had him put his hand on my stomach and then of course she stops moving. But the other morning there were a few big movements and then a little bump, bump and he felt it!
You look adorable. Seriously. I think weeks 20-20 are the funnest parts of pregnancy. You're big enough to look pregnant and feel pregnant, but not so huge and unwieldy. Your wear your 22 week bump well :)
